Ieasha Abdallah ’s Story
“Training with Corry Matthews has been a positive life changing experience. I became pregnant with twins in November of 2004. Before becoming pregnant I was a very active person running 5 times a week and I stayed in the gym.
My life was very hectic; I was an Army Captain in the Military Police Corps stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. My pregnancy seemed very long and I did not exercise throughout my pregnancy due to my high-risk status. I spent a month on bed rest in the High Risk Pregnancy Unit and later delivered my twins by cesarean section on June 29, 2005.
After delivering twins my body literally felt like I had been hit by a bus and injected with water. I had lost all muscle tone and my body was just weak and bloated. My pre pregnancy weight was a lean one hundred and sixty pounds, which was perfect with my tall frame. At the end of my pregnancy I weighed 209, with 9 pounds just being the babies’ weight. At eight weeks post-partum I was determined to get back in the gym and get my body back!
At one hundred and eighty- nine pounds I was so confused and depressed, my back bones and hip bones were all out of place and I was out of breath just walking on the treadmill for 10 minutes at 4.0, I was desperate. Feeling helpless, God smiled upon me and sent me to Corry Matthews.
My first appointment was rough I did 10 lunges and was at muscle failure. Frustrated and depressed Corry helped me understand what my body had been through and explained I would have to slowly rebuild the muscles and regain my endurance.
Since my first appointment I have watched my body transform and have regained the confidence I had before becoming pregnant. What I loved most about training with Corry Matthews was being in her presence, I felt comfortable and she challenged me at each of my sessions and encouraged me to never quit and push through the pain. I have loved every moment of my training, even the grueling leg workouts and the sessions I thought I was going to vomit.
Training with Corry helped me through post pregnancy depression as well. My experience has been hard work, but refreshing and there was nothing I disliked about my sessions. I would like to say thank you to Corry Matthews for being such a great trainer and leading by example. It has been truly a blessing to train with you and I could never thank you enough for helping me attain my goals.”
