“It is no exaggeration to say that training with Corry Matthews has saved my life. When we started our sessions three years ago, I was 39 years old, working long hours in a high stress job, 25 pounds overweight, and was recovering from my mother’s death and treatment for melanoma–all of which left me with no energy and very unhappy.

Corry designed an exercise program and a nutrition plan to begin to return me to good health, and encouraged me to stick with it. We then discovered that I had thyroid disease, and modified our approach yet again. Slowly, over many months of medication adjustments and frequently changing workouts, I began to get better. I built muscle tone I hadn’t seen for 10 years, found my stamina, and began to enjoy both working out and the physical benefits from it.

Three years later I’m in a much better position, both physically and with my attitude toward life. I have lost much of the weight, although setbacks with thyroid disease and a back injury (not Corry-related!) are making the trip to complete good health a little longer. We are still working out, with Corry’s optimism that I’ll get there keeping me on track through the setbacks. I look forward to writing the final version, but I can say that I would not be as optimistic about my health and my future without Corry’s consistent, upbeat, and focused attention on getting me where I need to be.

She’s a gifted trainer–knowledgeable from her multiple degrees and certifications, astute regarding how far to push her clients, and extraordinarily committed to their success. I am quite sure that one day soon we’ll be seeing her on a national stage as one of the top trainers in the country.
